Finding the Bodelschwinghboot at Kivu lake, Rwanda

SENSYS – Magnetometers & Survey Solutions and Tessec Engenharia e Servicos Maritimos recently took part in the third attempt (after 1989 and 2014) to find the 1916 sunken vessel Bodelschwingh at Lake Kivu, Rwanda. With its original purpose to serve missionaries on their mission it was occupied by the German during WWI and converted into a canon boat.

With the help of the MAGDRONE and our FGM3D UWD underwater #Fluxgate sensor operated in parallel with a #sidescan by Tessec Engenharia e Servicos Maritimos first anomalies where detected and the data is being processed these days. The search for the vessel gained a lot of national interest, such as the linked thenewstimesrwanda.

SENSYS is supporting similar missions i.e. in Coronation Island searching for historical ship wrecks.
